The Phillips family home in Medfield is historic. It is 360 years old and was built by the great-uncle of President John Adams (also the great-great uncle of President John Quincy Adams), back when Medfield was one of the westernmost colonial towns in North America. Its owner originally used the land and nearby creek to build the town mill, but it and much of the original house were burnt down during the King Philip War, when Native Americans attacked the colonists in Medfield. A son in the Adams family rebuilt the home, and it stayed in the Adams family for the next 225 years. We have no idea if this is the first wedding held at the home or one of many in its long history.
